A lot of people prefer to go organic nowadays. And there are a lot of reasons why. Primarily, going organic would really help save the environment. All these chemicals that you use for different household chores actually deposit harmful substances which would accumulate and create damage to the environment.
This is also true when it comes to carpet cleaning. These carpet cleaning materials, detergents and all would usually contain substances which can damage the environment in the long run. But this doesn’t mean that you can just leave your carpet to be terribly dirty. You can just make the choice of going organic instead.
There are now several companies which carry organic household products. Their product lines also include carpet cleaners. The problem is that some of these products are more expensive than usual. So if you’re on a budget, you might think twice before going organic.
But you don’t really have to spend so much if you want to go organic with your carpet cleaning. There are a lot of items which you can use. You might even conveniently find them in your house already. Below is a mixture of some organic items which can help you clean your carpet well without creating any damage.
You will need baking soda, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and at your option an essential oil of any scent you like.
Step 1
Fill a sprayer with about 400ml of water.
Step 2
Measure one cup of baking soda and add it to the sprayer. Cover and shake so that it mixes well. You can already use this mixture if your carpet is not heavily stained.
Step 3
Add ¼ cup of lemon juice to the mixture. You can do away with this if the stains aren’t really that heavy. But if there are stains which are quite difficult to remove then you can add this ingredient. note however that some fabrics might be sensitive to acids so it’s best not to use it heavily.
Step 3
Add two or three drops of essential oil to the mixture. Choose any scent that you like. It doesn’t really serve any cleaning purpose but it can help keep odors away from your carpet and leave it smelling fresh and clean.
With these quick and easy steps, you will be able to save money, save the environment and a t the same time enjoy a nicely cleaned carpet.
