1. Vacuum the carpet daily. Vacuuming the carpet does not simply remove dust and dirt. It also gets rids of all other materials which are in your carpet and are causing some smell to come off from it. Run it gently and make sure you cover the entire area. 2. Deep clean the carpet regularly. it is very important to give your carpet some deep cleaning. Deep cleaning will remove all the dirt that have stuck to your carpet for a while. Some of which may actually be the cause of bad odor coming from your carpet.
3. Keep the carpet dry. One of the reasons why your carpet gives off an odor is the fact that it got wet and it was not completely dried off. So when you clean, especially if you get the carpet wet, make sure it is completely dried because if there’s moisture left behind, bacteria an molds would grow and it will give your carpet a terrible smell.
4. Dry clean with baking soda. The best way to remove carpet stench is through baking soda. All you have to do is to sprinkle it all over the carpet. let it sit for a couple of hours and allow it to absorb the odor. Then with a vacuum cleaner suck up all the powder and voila, your carpet is now stench-free.
