Cleaning the varnish stains on the carpet can be tough but it is a very doable task if you know the right things to do. Follow the advice below on how to clean up the varnish stains on your carpet so that you can properly deal with this problem with ease.
1. The first step that you need to take is to remove as much of the excess varnish on your carpet as possible. Use a paper towel and then blot the stained area couple of times to help remove some of the varnish. Do this until there is no more varnish transferring onto the paper towel.
2. Next, use a new paper towel but this time fold it a few times. Afterwards, apply some dry cleaning fluid on it and then put it over the varnish stain on your carpet. Get a heavy book or some weights and place it on top of the paper towel and let it sit there for 10 to 15 minutes. The dry cleaning fluid will help in dissolving the stain so that it will be removed from the carpet.
3. If the previous step doesn’t completely eliminate all of the carpet stain, you can try using a different cleaning solution for the problem. Try mixing a teaspoon of non-bleach detergent with a cup of warm water and pour some of this onto the stained area of the carpet. Then, use a clean white cloth to blot the area repeatedly until all of the stain is gone. Repeat this step until you are able to remove all of the stain on the carpet.
4. For the last step, get a cup of clean water and then rinse the carpet area where the varnish stain used to be. Then dry everything thoroughly using some clean towels. This last step is to make sure that you remove any residue that could stay behind on the carpet fibers.
