Nothing can make you feel a whole lot better when you have the colds or flu than having a nice, hot bowl of chicken soup. It has become a very common remedy for these kinds of sickness which is why chicken soup has become very popular over the years.
It is rich in flavor and delicious which only adds to the benefits that it gives in making us feel better when we are feeling under the weather. One thing that you don’t want to do though when it comes to eating chicken soup is accidentally spilling it all over your carpet. This kind of problem can cause a very nasty stain that will be really tough to remove.
Chicken soup stains can be quite a problematic problem if it happens on the carpet but thankfully it is not something which can’t be remedied. Below is a guide which I have prepared to help you in addressing this challenging cleaning problem on your carpet at home.
Step 1: Remove the Spilled Chicken Soup on the Carpet
It is important that you immediately remove the chicken soup spilled on the carpet. This has to be done quickly in order to avoid having it seep deeper into the carpet fibers. Use a clean white cloth to blot the liquid material on the carpet. As for the solid food particles, use a spoon or a dull knife to scoop it out of the carpet fibers.
Step 2: Dilute the Stain With Water
Adding a few drops of water on the chicken soup stain can help in preventing it from setting right away. Use a medicine dropper in doing so and just add a few drops to the stain. Then, use a paper towel to blot the area a couple of times before moving on to the next step.
Step 3: Make a Cleaning Solution
A cleaning solution would be needed in order to remove the chicken soup stain completely from the carpet. You can make one by simply adding a teaspoon of non-bleach laundry detergent with a quart of warm water. Put the cleaning solution inside a spray bottle and then apply an appropriate amount of it onto the soup stain.
Step 4: Blot the Stain
Use a clean white cloth to slowly blot the chicken soup stain. Doing this will gradually lift the stain out of the carpet and onto the surface of the cloth. Just be patient when doing this step as you may not be able to see positive results immediately. Just keep at it until you are able to remove the entire stain.
Step 5: Rinse the Carpet
After cleaning up the stain on the carpet, the last thing that you have to do is to rinse the carpet with a cup of cool water. This helps in preventing any cleaning solution residue from getting left behind on the carpet. Afterward, use some clean towels to dry the area properly.
